Peacemaker Season 2 Opening Dance Renewed
Peacemaker was remembered not only for its action but also for its extraordinary dance scene with its first season in 2022. Now, the series is renewing this iconic opening with a completely different show in its second season. The Peacemaker character and the new season cast will greet viewers with another fun and surprising start. This scene, signed by James Gunn, aims to make a remarkable entrance to the character’s new journey.
Brand New Choreography for Peacemaker Season 2 Opening
James Gunn confirmed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that the opening dance scene for the series’ second season has completely changed. Now, viewers will be greeted with a different song instead of Wig Wam’s “Do Ya Wanna Taste It” used in the first season. Not only the human characters but also Peacemaker’s loyal friend Eagly participates in the dance scene. Gunn drew attention to the entertaining structure of the scene with the words, “Eagly is trying to dance for the first time, she’s not very good, but she’s trying very hard.”
The new dance sequence will include Tim Meadows, Sol Rodriguez and Michael Rooker, who have joined the cast. In addition, Judomaster, whom we know from the first season, has a much larger role this time. Gunn emphasized that a new choreography was inevitable due to both the cast changes and the progress in the story.
The director admits that it will be difficult to repeat the surprise effect of the first season this time. “The scene in the first season was completely unexpected, so it is not easy to create the same surprise. However, there are many story developments that will create this surprise in the new season of the series,” he said, adding that different surprises await the audience.
Although lead actor John Cena also avoided giving details about the new scene, he stated that they understood the importance of the scene better this time as a team. “This time, everyone danced knowing how valuable it was. Everyone had already done their best in the first season, but now it is even more obvious how important this scene is for the series.”
The second season of Peacemaker will focus on the character’s confrontation with his past and his efforts to chart a new path for himself. James Gunn and John Cena will promote the series with a panel at the CCXP event in Brazil on June 1. The impact of the opening scene is already eagerly awaited.
