Pico Park: Classic Edition Is Free Forever
Pico Park: Classic Edition, a game that holds a special place among co-op platformers, has made gaming history with an unexpected development. Released in 2016, the game has now become permanently free on Steam thanks to an unintentional move by developer Tecopark.
Pico Park: Classic Edition Will Remain Free on Steam
The game originally received an update a few months ago that included online multiplayer support, visual improvements, and various technical improvements. Tecopark had planned to make the game paid again with this update. However, Steam’s policies do not allow developers to switch a game back to paid status after making it free.
Realizing this, the developer posted on social media, “I wanted to make the game paid again, but Steam won’t let me! Now it’s free forever.” The post quickly went viral, and thousands of players added the game to their libraries.
Pico Park: Classic Edition offers a fun and colorful platforming experience that supports up to 10 players simultaneously. Offering the joy of playing with friends through simple yet clever puzzles, the game can be played both offline and online.
Tecopark is looking to capitalize on this error. The developer also suggested players try the other games in the series, Pico Park and Pico Park 2. However, this version is now permanently available for free. Pico Park: Classic Edition appears to be one of those rare instances where a developer mistake turned into the sweetest surprise for players.
