PlayStation 5 October 2025 Update Released
Sony has released a new system update for PlayStation 5 users starting October 2025. This new software package, version 25.07-12.20.00, improves system stability like previous updates, but this time, it features a small but useful feature. It’s now possible to view the serial numbers of the console and DualSense controllers directly from the settings.
PlayStation 5 Update Brings Small But Useful Updates
The new PlayStation 5 update is now available for download worldwide. This version allows users to view the serial numbers of the console and connected DualSense controllers directly from the system settings. This makes it easy to access the serial numbers without having to access the devices’ physical labels.
The new feature can be found in the Settings > System > System Software > Console Information menu. For DualSense wireless controllers, go to Settings > Accessories > General > Advanced Settings > View Serial Number. This feature will make things easier for users, especially when dealing with warranty or technical support.
The update doesn’t just add this feature. The DualSense Edge wireless controller’s firmware has also been updated, improving stability. Sony also stated that it has made text adjustments to some screens to improve the user experience and has optimized overall system performance.
This update continues the PlayStation 5’s regular software updates in recent months. The previous version, released in September, added the ability for DualSense controllers to connect to multiple devices simultaneously. This allows players to easily use a single controller across devices.
November promises to be a busy month for PlayStation 5 owners. Games like Satisfactory, PUBG: Battlegrounds, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 are coming to the console throughout the month. Additionally, Ghost of Yotei, released in October, received full praise from players and critics, further enriching the platform’s strong game library.
