PlayStation Plus January 2025 Games Create Controversy
Sony has announced the games that will be removed from PlayStation Plus in January 2025. This month, beloved titles such as Resident Evil 2, Life is Strange, and Just Cause 4 will be removed from PlayStation Plus. On the other hand, the possible addition of new content to the free game list has sparked debate among players. While some players think the list will be thin, others are happy with the existing games.
Games to be Removed from PlayStation Plus
Sony has announced that a total of 12 games will be removed from PlayStation Plus Extras and Premium as of January 21, 2025. These games include high-profile titles such as Resident Evil 2, Life is Strange: Before the Storm, Just Cause 3 and 4, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Edition, Legend of Mana, and Secret of Mana. Here are all the games that will be removed from PlayStation Plus:
- Resident Evil 2
- Life Is Strange
- Life Is Strange: Before The Storm
- Just Cause 3
- Just Cause 4
- Just Cause 4 Reloaded
- Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection
- Legend of Mana
- Secret of Mana
- Dragonball FighterZ
- Hardspace: Shipbreaker
- Pure Hold’em World Poker Championship
While this has drawn criticism from many subscribers, some see it as an opportunity for these games to be playable before they are removed from the platform. For example, Resident Evil 2 can be completed in about 8-10 hours, while Life is Strange offers 15 hours of play. However, this may not be enough for players who have limited time to complete the games.
These changes have had mixed reactions among PlayStation Plus users. Some players criticized the removal of high-profile games in particular, commenting, “This has been a weak year for PlayStation Plus.” Another user said, “I’m disappointed, Life is Strange was on my list.” However, some players who say they’ve played all the games before don’t see this as a problem. In the meantime, it’s thought that the new games to be added will be announced soon.
