Preparations Have Begun for Fallout 5

The first serious step toward the long-awaited new installment in the Fallout series may finally be underway. According to recent reports, Bethesda Game Studios has begun preparations for Fallout 5, and the project has officially been greenlit. Following this development, the cancellation of a project under ZeniMax is also being considered a strategic decision to focus on Fallout.

The Countdown to Fallout 5 Has Begun

News about Fallout 5 emerged from statements made by Windows Central writer Jez Corden on the Xbox Two podcast. According to Corden, a ZeniMax project called “Project Blackbird” has been canceled, a decision made to prioritize Fallout 5. It’s not yet clear which studio will take over development, but Bethesda Game Studios appears likely to take the lead.

Preparations Have Begun for Fallout 5

Fallout 5 was once thought to exist as a single-page plan. However, the official launch of the project now indicates that the game has moved beyond the conceptual stage and into full development. The renewed interest in the Fallout universe thanks to the television series may have also influenced this decision.

Recently, rumors have surfaced that multiple Fallout projects are in development. These include Fallout 3 Remastered and a new installment based on the New Vegas universe. Furthermore, the completion of filming for the second season of Fallout, slated for release in December, indicates a renewed surge in the brand.

The structure of the new game remains unclear. Will it be a classic single-player Fallout, or will it attempt to revisit the multiplayer from Fallout 76? Whether the series will expand beyond the US is also a matter of debate. Fallout 76’s creative director, Jonathan Rush, maintains that the series will not expand beyond America. Answers to these questions will have to wait until Fallout 5 is officially announced.
