The BBook stands out as a gaming computer designed based on the hardware of the Sony PS5. The device’s 17.3-inch IPS screen offers 4K resolution and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. However, it is limited to a 60Hz refresh rate. Although there is a built-in keyboard and touchpad, these cannot be used during gameplay; an external controller is needed.
In terms of ports, the BBook is more limited than the standard PS5, with only one USB-A and one HDMI port. In terms of storage, it offers support for a 2242 SSD, which means a smaller form factor than standard 2280 SSDs. One of the most striking features of the device is that it does not have a built-in battery; therefore, it must be constantly connected to a power source.
The BBook will be sold in China with a price tag of 19,999 CNY (approximately 2,748 USD). Although this price is quite high compared to a standard PS5 console, it offers additional features such as portability and an integrated screen. However, limitations like the lack of a built-in battery and limited ports are among the factors that potential buyers should consider.
