PS5 Pro Pre Order Date Revealed
GameStop’s PS5 Pro pre order will begin on October 10.
PS5 Pro Pre Order Date
The PlayStation 5 Pro had a controversial announcement, with its $700 price tag shocking many gamers and some people becoming skeptical over whether the cost of the system truly justifies the benefits posed by its described graphical improvements. Despite any discourse related to the system, a lot of PlayStation fans have been looking forward to the arrival of the PS5 Pro, and they’re one step closer now that pre-orders are almost live.
GameStop announced that pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 Pro will go live on October 10. Following that announcement, GameStop shared on social media that PS5 owners who trade in their base PS5 systems can get up to $330 cash or in-store credit. PlayStation has been hosting early pre-order access on its website for some gamers, but the consoles weren’t exactly flying off shelves. Despite the slow wave of support, there are plenty of fans who have voiced excitement leading up to the system’s release.
Pre-orders opening up to more gamers will hopefully make the system more accessible to the people still waiting for their chance to grab one. The pre-order process on PlayStation’s website was somewhat complex since it was exclusive to PlayStation Direct at first, effectively barring pre-order access to some regions. Some expect this segmented process to affect the console’s sales in the long run, but there’s time for the system to accrue a base of dedicated supporters.
Now that the gates are beginning to open for the PlayStation 5 Pro, gamers can look forward to the array of titles that will benefit from performance and fidelity upgrades, including The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. There is a side to the PS5 Pro that has gamers voicing concern, though. For all the improvements that the system offers, the PlayStation 5 Pro lacks a disc drive. This design choice has been interpreted by some as a push by PlayStation into an all-digital age. In addition to simply preferring physical media, sonme gamers don’t want to have to rely entirely on downloads to support their console library. Although an all-digital future and a slow start to pre-orders may have gotten in the PS5 Pro’s way, consumers will decide the system’s popularity soon.
