PS5 Pro User Complaints on the Rise
Sony’s next-generation console, the PS5 Pro, was launched with promises of superior performance. However, some users are raising concerns over the console’s fan noise, heating issues and network connectivity performance.
PS5 Pro’s Fan Noise and Heating Issues
PS5 Pro, which went on sale on November 7, 2024, received intense criticism on social media and forums about fan performance. Users state that the console uses cooling systems from two different fan manufacturers (Foxconn and Delta). While Foxconn fans produce a more natural airflow sound, Delta fans allegedly produce a metallic sound. Neither fan type seems to perform as expected in terms of being “quiet”.
Some users have shared that they have returned their consoles due to fan noise and that their service teams have received numerous complaints about these issues. Even users who say that Delta fans produce a more pleasant tone say that the PS5 Pro’s fan noise is annoying.
Apart from the fan noise, PS5 Pro owners complain about the console’s high operating temperatures. Network connectivity performance also fell short of expectations. Some users report slower download speeds on wired and wireless connections compared to the previous PS5 model. This issue may be related to system software or firmware.
Some users have also reported long delays in menu transitions when they first turn on the console. These issues are expected to be resolved in future software updates from Sony.
