Red Dead Redemption PC Price Revealed
The price information for Red Dead Redemption PC is revealed with Steam page.
Red Dead Redemption PC Price
The original Red Dead Redemption game was released in 2010 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. At the time, it cost $59.99, which was standard for new PS3 and 360 games. The game eventually became playable on modern Xbox consoles through backward compatibility, but largely stayed stuck on its original hardware.
That all changed last year when Red Dead Redemption came to PS4 and Switch. Unfortunately, the PS4 and Switch version of the critically-acclaimed game proved to be pretty expensive, retailing for $49.99 despite having been over 13 years old at that point. Unsurprisingly, the Steam version of Red Dead Redemption is launching with a similarly high asking price.
More details have been added to Red Dead Redemption’s Steam page, including how much the game will cost. The 14-year-old game will set Steam users back a whopping $49.99 if they buy it at launch on October 29. PC gamers that have been waiting over a decade to play Red Dead Redemption may have no problem with such a high price for an old game, but others will definitely not be happy, especially since the PS4 version is currently available at a discount.
For a limited time, PS4 gamers can buy Red Dead Redemption for $34.99 instead of the usual asking price of $49.99. There’s also the option to sign up for a GTA+ subscription ($7.99 per month) to get Red Dead Redemption on PlayStation as well. While it’s likely that many PC gamers will be willing to pay $49.99 for the game, it’s probable others will wait for similar deals before getting the beloved open world western on their platform of choice.
