Resident Evil 2: Dead Shot First Footage Released

The zombie invasion isn’t over, but this time, it’s in a different format. Developed in collaboration with Capcom and Bandai Namco, Resident Evil 2: Dead Shot brings the classic horror experience to the arcades. This new version, which has thrilled fans of the series, is currently being tested exclusively at Namco Funscape in the UK. However, the first released footage suggests an experience that blends nostalgia and innovation.

Resident Evil 2: Dead Shot Returns with an Arcade Experience

Dead Shot divides the story of Resident Evil 2 into five chapters, offering players a step-by-step structure. The prologue and the second chapter, “Hunted,” are currently playable. The game’s opening sequence shows Leon and Claire escaping zombies and struggling to reach the Raccoon City Police Department.

In keeping with the arcade-style gameplay, reloading is done by aiming and pointing away from the screen. Automatic reloading is also available, but those who prefer speed can opt for manual reloading. Visually, the atmosphere is remarkably similar to Capcom’s 2019 Resident Evil 2 Remake.

The first chapters feature zombified police officers, striking action sequences, and iconic characters. Ada Wong and Marvin Branagh are also confirmed to appear in the game. Details like players being “pulled” into the game by a zombie hand during screen selection also add to the immersive atmosphere.

It’s not yet clear how long the game will remain in arcades. However, players visiting the Namco Funscape arcade near London will easily recognize the red neon-lit cabinet housing Leon, Claire, and Ada Wong. As the series approaches its 30th anniversary, there’s talk that Capcom has even bigger surprises in store for Resident Evil: Requiem.
