Resident Evil 9 Release Date is Not Imminent
There are rumors that the new game of the Resident Evil series, Resident Evil 9, is in development. However, it is stated that the release date of the game is not close. Before The Game Awards, some claims suggested that the new game of the series would be announced at the awards ceremony. However, this did not happen and it seems that the game will not be released in 2024.
Resident Evil 9 Release Date Far From Expected
Dusk Golem, who frequently leaks information about the Resident Evil series, shared a new update about Resident Evil 9. According to Golem, Resident Evil 9 was originally going to be announced last summer, but this announcement was also postponed due to the game’s delay. Moreover, this postponement does not seem to be minor.
“After learning about the delay of last summer’s planned reveal and the delay in internal development, I wasn’t really surprised that the game didn’t show up anywhere this year,” Dusk Golem said. “Resident Evil Village was delayed a bit from its original release window. But the delay in Resident Evil 9 feels like a Resident Evil 2 remake. Resident Evil 2 was originally scheduled for January 2018, the game’s 20th anniversary, but it required major changes and was pushed back to January 2019.”
Dusk Golem says that Capcom will be releasing a lot of games in the upcoming period, so they can spend more time on Resident Evil 9. The insider said, “It’s already a pretty ambitious game. If they think it needs more development, that’s a good thing. Capcom is probably trying to figure out where the game fits in the next few years.”
Capcom hasn’t made an official statement about Resident Evil 9 yet. However, fans of the series are hoping that the new game will be more ambitious and comprehensive.
