Resident Evil Requiem Releases First Gameplay Trailer
Capcom released the long-awaited first gameplay trailer for Resident Evil Requiem at Gamescom 2025. The trailer, which stands out with its action scenes blended with horror elements, brought a breath of fresh air to series fans while also hinting at the game’s dark atmosphere. The game, which has yet to be released, quickly became one of the most talked-about titles at the event.
Resident Evil Requiem Draws Attention with Its First Gameplay Details
The trailer featured scenes featuring Alyssa and Grace Ashcroft attempting to escape a killer after the power goes out at the Wrenwood Hotel. However, Alyssa appears to have failed to survive the chase, giving players the opportunity to witness Grace’s struggle more closely. The atmosphere, which remains true to the series’ roots, combined with the tension-intensifying cinematic scenes, was met with critical acclaim.
In addition to the new trailer, Capcom also announced that Resident Evil Requiem would be available to players for the first time at Gamescom. Requiem, the ninth main installment in the series, takes fans back to Raccoon City, a city of disaster and despair. The story begins with FBI agent Grace Ashcroft investigating her mother’s mysterious death, inviting players into a dark mystery.
Leaks about the game had previously revealed that Requiem would feature three different playable characters. Furthermore, according to insiders, Resident Evil 9 will be the final installment of the series’ numbered installments, suggesting Capcom is planning to take the franchise in a different direction in the future.
Meanwhile, more surprises are in store for the Resident Evil universe. According to recent reports, preparations for the Code Veronica and Zero remakes have begun, and these projects are expected to be released between 2027 and 2028. The new Resident Evil film, directed by Zach Cregger, is rumored to have a “different, bold, and unconventional” tone.
