Resident Evil Survival Unit Announced

The Resident Evil universe continues to expand. However, this time, strategy is at the forefront, not fear. The mobile game Resident Evil Survival Unit, developed in partnership with Capcom, Aniplex and Joycity Corporation, has been announced for iPhone and Android devices. The production, which will bring this world full of fear together with the real-time strategy genre, aims to offer an experience that is not common in the series.

Resident Evil Survival Unit Will Offer Strategy on Mobile

Resident Evil Survival Unit will be an RTS, or real-time strategy game, developed by Joycity Corporation. Joycity was previously known for top-down, resource management-based games such as Pirates of the Caribbean: Tides of War. In the new project, a similar mechanic will be adapted to the Resident Evil universe.

The game will focus on strategic combat rather than the classic horror elements of the Resident Evil series. This may be an unusual experience for fans. Since it was developed specifically for mobile devices, it will be on a different scale than the high-budget productions offered on console or PC platforms. However, this situation can also be interpreted as promising a different gaming experience rather than lowering expectations.

The big reveal for Resident Evil Survival Unit will take place on July 10. In this event, the game’s first trailer, gameplay details and information about the possible release date are expected to be shared. This move is also considered a new step in Capcom’s efforts to increase its presence in the mobile gaming market.
