Respawn CEO Blames EA App Bugs
The EA App bugs that emerged with the launch of Battlefield 6 have put both players and developers in a difficult position. These issues, which prevented the game from launching, quickly became a trending topic on social media. However, the most striking reaction came unexpectedly from Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella. Zampella lost his patience and publicly criticized the EA App team.
Zampella Issues Open Message Following EA App Issues
Zampella expressed his outrage on social media, saying, “I reprimanded the EA App staff.” Stating that he empathizes with players who can’t play their own games, Zampella said he has experienced the same issue, highlighting the seriousness of the problem. The veteran executive emphasized that platform bugs are detracting from the player experience.
Following the problems, some users chose to play the game on Steam. Zampella also supported this, stating that the Steam version was more stable. This statement surprised many gamers, as Zampella was the CEO of a studio under the Electronic Arts umbrella.
The incident quickly escalated. While some EA employees stated that the issue was temporary and had been resolved, the community remains dissatisfied with the overall performance of the EA App. Zampella’s outspokenness also garnered attention within the company. Following the criticism, the app updates largely addressed the bugs.
Electronic Arts has not made an official statement on the matter. However, leaks from within the company indicate that communication between both Respawn and the EA App team will be reviewed. Zampella’s statement is being interpreted as a sign of a potential shift in EA’s digital strategy.
