Rockstar Founder Reveals New Book and Game-Related Details
Rockstar Games co-founder and Red Dead Redemption series author Dan Houser has announced that he is working on a new book. The book, titled A Better Paradise – Volume One: An Aftermath, will continue the story of a podcast series developed by Houser’s new company Absurd Ventures. The book will also tie into various projects, including an open-world video game and a television series.
Absurd Ventures Is the New Venture After Rockstar Games
Dan Houser left Rockstar Games after the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018 to form a new company called Absurd Ventures. The company focuses not only on developing games, but also on various media projects such as podcasts, books, television and film.
His new book, A Better Paradise, expands on the story of a podcast series that Houser directs. The podcast is about a video game with advanced artificial intelligence that has dangerous consequences. The book will delve deeper into the story by focusing on the development process of this game and the threats posed by artificial intelligence. Houser said of the book, “Every story of mine starts with writing. If a story works in writing, it can be told in other media environments.” The book will be released in fall 2025.
In addition to Houser’s book A Better Paradise, it was also stated that Absurd Ventures is working on an open-world game based on this universe. It is also known that the company is working on another universe called Absurdaverse. This universe will start with a story-driven action-comedy game and animation projects. Houser’s new projects continue his legacy at Rockstar Games and bring his approach to storytelling to different media formats. What Absurd Ventures will add to the world of games and media is eagerly awaited.
