Rockstar’s $3 Million GTA 6 Miami Campaign Details Revealed
Real-world marketing efforts for GTA 6 have begun to accelerate. It has emerged that Rockstar is preparing a very large-scale advertising campaign in Miami, and installations around the Kaseya Center have been photographed. The giant panels placed behind the arena where the Miami Heat play their games are not yet complete, but the design is clearly related to GTA 6.
$3 Million Paid for GTA 6 Miami Campaign
The shared aerial images show that large advertising panels have begun to be installed behind the Kaseya Center. When completed, the panels are expected to form the phrase “Welcome to VI”. The pink and white color palette, the large “VI” logo, and the Miami skyline clearly indicate which game the campaign belongs to.
Rockstar’s deal with Miami authorities for this campaign is reportedly worth approximately $3 million. The campaign initially faced some opposition because the massive advertising campaign for the crime-centric Grand Theft Auto series in a real city sparked controversy. Ultimately, the deal was approved, and preparations began.
The billboards and logos are scheduled to be fully visible on October 10th. The chosen location is no coincidence; Kaseya Center has a fictional counterpart in the GTA 6 world called Sahara Arena. Rockstar has clearly highlighted the connection between the game’s Vice City and the real Miami here.
GTA 6 is scheduled for release on November 19th, meaning there will be about a month between the launch of the advertisements and the game’s release. Following the Netflix release of Extended Look, erecting a giant “Welcome to VI” sign in the middle of Miami shows that Rockstar is showing no signs of slowing down in its marketing efforts.
