Scarface: The World is Yours Pages Closed
Scarface: The World is Yours, a game that marked the golden age of open-world games, was breaking it’s long standing silence. Released in 2006 as a serious competitor to the Grand Theft Auto series during the PlayStation 2 era, the game never returned due to licensing issues. However, new developments suggested Scarface is being reborn on modern platforms—this time with an HD graphics mode.
Why did Scarface: The World is Yours Pages Closed?
The recent events shocked all players who wants to see Scarface game on HD graphics. Steam and Epic Games Store pages were available for all fans but however, release date was not confirmed. The original game, released in 2006, offered an alternate-story sequel to the 1983 film, placing players in the shoes of Tony Montana. Having survived the attack in the film, Tony attempts to rebuild his drug empire in Miami. With its expansive map, customizable mansion, and unique atmosphere, Scarface quickly achieved legendary status.
While the game was ahead of its time, technical issues and complex licensing rights never led to a re-release. The inclusion of Al Pacino’s likeness and voice was a major factor in the remake’s challenges. However, it remained unclear whether the original content will be retained in this remake.
However, after some time, it’s revealed that things are more complicated than expected. An examination of the game’s files revealed the presence of FusionFix and SilentPatch mods. These two mods improve the performance and playability of the original Windows version. Interestingly, the developers of both mods claim they were not authorized and were unaware of this incident. Furthermore, Universal, which holds the rights to the brand, was unwilling to republish the game and was unaware of the situation.
Finally, EC Digital Entertainment, the publisher, stated, “We have entered into urgent discussions with multiple parties regarding the status of the project. After careful consideration, we have decided that temporarily hiding the store page is the most appropriate step and have begun coordinating with Valve to ensure this is implemented.”
While the future course of action remains unknown, it appears unlikely that Scarface: The World is Yours will be released to the Epic Games and Steam stores.
