Short Gameplay Trailer Released from MindsEye

Developed by Build A Rocket Boy, MindsEye has offered its first hints about action gameplay with its new trailer. This short trailer shows third-person combat scenes, while the trailer ends with a fast-paced vehicle chase scene. The game is scheduled to be released on June 10 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Mindset of Action and Chase in MindsEye

The trailer shows the main character Jacob Diaz fighting against enemies with weapons such as pistols, shotguns, and machine guns. The interaction of space is quite prominent: The strategic use of explosive barrels and the active use of cover points in the environment play an important role in the player’s survival. Even in fast-paced scenes, environmental awareness guides the gameplay.

In the short section given about the story, Jacob is seen chasing two hackers. Jacob, who jumps into his vehicle to catch the enemies who managed to escape, takes action to find the second hacker with the instructions coming from the radio. This plot, combined with the vehicle sequences, aims to keep the player at the center of the action at all times.

In terms of vehicle use, assistant director Adam Whiting’s previous statements are noteworthy. The aim is for the camera system to give the player a feeling of being at the limit of control while cornering at high speed. Whiting had said, “We wanted to create chase scenes that felt like they came out of a Fast and Furious movie.” The camera increases the excitement without forcing the player, while also allowing for delicate maneuvers with gas-brake-handbrake combinations.

A recent leak had previously revealed most of the game’s gameplay. The images sent to a broadcaster and prepared only for a special screening were accidentally shared on live broadcast and watched by many people. Both the combat scenes and the vehicle chase sections were striking in the images.

Pre-orders for MindsEye are available for $59.99 on digital stores. The developer team notes that this trailer is just the beginning, adding that full gameplay footage will be shared very soon.
