Signals Are Growing Stronger For Black Flag Remake

One of Ubisoft’s projects that cannot remain secret, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag Remake, has come to the fore again, this time with an indirect statement. The statement made by Pure Arts, a company known for its series-specific figures, on live broadcast may be a strong sign of Edward Kenway’s return. Remake rumors, which have been circulating in various sources for two years, seem closer than ever to a concrete announcement with this new development.

Is Edward Kenway Returning with Black Flag Remake?

Remake rumors first emerged in 2022, and since then, various sources have suggested that the project is in development. Although the calendar remains uncertain after the postponement of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, it has long been rumored that Black Flag Remake has an important place in Ubisoft’s future plans. Finally, the statements made on the live broadcast of figure company Pure Arts strengthened this expectation.

During the live broadcast, one of the presenters hinted that the character would be back on the agenda by using the phrase “something is happening” regarding Edward Kenway. The answers given to the other presenter’s question “Has it not been announced yet?” revealed that the subject was known by referring to both an article and rumors. Following this conversation, the presenter said that the 1/8 PVC Edward Kenway statue to be made “will reflect this situation.”

This statement may be a sign that we will encounter not only a new statue, but also a redesigned version of the character. If a new statue is being made and this statue “reflects the developments,” Edward Kenway’s design may be being updated for the remake. This directly suggests that the game is in the process of being remade.

Ubisoft has previously been on the agenda with many Assassin’s Creed projects that were leaked before they were announced. Multiplayer-focused spin-offs, a co-op mode developed for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and various content had reached the gaming community before they were even made official. From this perspective, it is not surprising that the Black Flag Remake has become an “open secret”.

Although there has been no confirmatory statement from Ubisoft yet, the fact that the figure manufacturers are speaking so confidently indicates that the announcement is only a matter of time. Black Flag, one of the most beloved games in the series with its pirate-themed open world structure, can target new players as well as old fans with its remake.
