Silent Hill 2 Remake Exclusivity Explained
In the new released trailer, Silent Hill 2 Remake‘s timed exclusivity period has been revealed.
Silent Hill 2 Remake Exclusivity
The long wait for Silent Hill 2 Remake will finally end very soon. Not only is the remake set to modernize the 2001 Konami horror classic with bleeding edge Unreal Engine 5 tech, but Bloober Team has also doubled the Silent Hill 2 Remake’s length over the original, offering around 16–18 hours of gameplay.
Up until this point, it was unknown how long Silent Hill 2 would stay off Xbox consoles, but that question has finally been answered. Over on PlayStation’s YouTube channel, a new trailer highlighting Silent Hill 2’s immersive features reveals that the remake will be a PS5 console exclusive for exactly one year, with the timed exclusivity window set to end on October 8, 2025. This isn’t confirmation of Silent Hill 2 releasing on Xbox Series X/S on that date, though, but a minimum waiting period for players on the Microsoft platform.
It’s unfortunate that Xbox users looking forward to the Silent Hill 2 Remake will have to wait out an entire calendar year at the very least to see the game launch on Series X/S, but such is the nature of timed exclusivity agreements. PlayStation has definitely been more aggressive when it comes to securing huge timed exclusivity deals lately, with the market leading platform locking down Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth just earlier this year for three months.
Silent Hill 2 Remake will make it’s launch on October 8, 2024 for PC and PS5.
