Sony Raises DualSense Price
Sony has raised the price of PlayStation 5 accessories. In particular, the price hike for the DualSense controller came just before the PlayStation 5 technical presentation. DualSense will now sell for $75 in the United States, an increase of $5. This represents a 7% price increase.
Price Increase for DualSense and Other PS5 Accessories
Eric Lempel, a senior Sony executive, said in a presentation that the PS5 accessory business was “extremely profitable”. The DualSense’s popularity has pushed the company to price it higher. “Our PS5 peripheral lineup is the best we’ve ever released, both in terms of functionality and aesthetics,” Lempel said, emphasizing the revenue growth in the accessories category.
Along with the news of the latest price hike, Sony also launched new accessories, including the special edition Astro Bot DualSense ($80) and Concord controller ($85). Devices such as the $199 DualSense Edge and the PlayStation Portal, which enhances remote gaming, are also notable for their high price tags.
