Sony Shares First Details From Until Dawn Movie

Sony shared the first details of the film adaptation of the popular horror game Until Dawn at the CES 2025 event. Instead of following the story in the game exactly, the film will feature new characters and a different scenario. Director David F. Sandberg stated that the film will maintain the tone of the game but will offer a different experience by expanding the universe.

What to Expect in the Until Dawn Movie?

Director Sandberg stated that they will maintain the game’s “restart” mechanic in the Until Dawn movie. As in the game, the fate of the characters can change and each post-death story will turn into a different type of horror. Sandberg explained the basic theme of the film by saying, “The characters need to survive until morning.” This approach makes the film unique and will make the audience feel the spirit of the game.

The film, which comes with a new story and characters, is inspired by the original structure of the game but aims to offer a different narrative. This seems to please both fans of the game and horror lovers. Sandberg stated that with the structure of the film, players will be able to relive the “choice and consequence” experience in the cinema.

Until Dawn will meet the audience in theaters on April 25, 2025. Although Sony has not yet released an official trailer, it has shared a short scene from the film and the director’s comments. Players and movie enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the release of the film with these details.

Meanwhile, the renewed version of the game Until Dawn for PS5 and PC was released in October. Those who have not yet experienced the game can explore the universe by checking out this version before the film. Sony is expected to bring a new breath to the horror genre with this adaptation.
