Spaceballs 2 Cast Announced
The long-awaited Spaceballs 2 is finally officially on its way, and a cast full of surprises for fans has been announced. In the sequel to the legendary 1987 parody film, original actors Mel Brooks, Rick Moranis, and Bill Pullman return to their roles. Preparations have begun for the film, which will be released in 2027.
Spaceballs Returns After a Long Break
Spaceballs 2, produced by Amazon MGM Studios, comes to life 37 years after the original film. In the film, Mel Brooks will reprise his role as Yogurt, a Yoda parody. Brooks, who is preparing to turn 99, is also in the producer’s chair. Among the names that will accompany him are Rick Moranis (Dark Helmet) and Bill Pullman (Lone Starr), who have returned from retirement.
Another name that draws attention in the new production is Keke Palmer. Although her role has not yet been announced, her participation in the project has been officially confirmed. The film is directed by Josh Greenbaum, while the script is by Josh Gad, Benji Samit and Dan Hernandez. Josh Gad is also the lead and producer in the project.
Although the plot of Spaceballs 2 has not yet been detailed, it is expected to proceed with a sense of humor that makes fun of iconic productions of science fiction cinema, especially Star Wars, like the previous film. Years ago, Mel Brooks humorously suggested the title “Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money” for the sequel. It is said that this title may still be on the agenda.
The first promotional image of the film includes references to modern cinema universes such as the MCU and DCU. The producers of the project stated that they aim to produce a work worthy of Brooks’ legacy. Josh Gad expressed his excitement in a post he shared after the announcement, saying, “We are trying to make something worth waiting 37 years for.”
Blending comedy and science fiction, Spaceballs 2 is getting ready to enter the radar of moviegoers with both nostalgia and contemporary humor. Scheduled for release in 2027, the film will be the modern return of a long-awaited legend.
