Michael Mando May Return as Scorpion

According to behind-the-scenes information, Michael Mando will be reprising his role as Mac Gargan, whom he briefly portrayed in the Homecoming movie. The character, who was first seen in the 2017 film Homecoming, was wounded at the end of the movie and tried to learn Spider-Man’s identity from Adrian Toomes in the post-credits scene. The character’s return has been a matter of curiosity ever since.

The news that Mando would reprise the role spread rapidly on social media. The actor had previously expressed his desire to return to the character in different interviews, making the rumors more believable. Although no official statement has been made yet, an Instagram post in the Disney presentation, which was later deleted, supports this claim.

In addition to Scorpion, it is suggested that two other villains, Tombstone and Boomerang, will also appear in the film. This trio seems to represent a complex struggle against Spider-Man. Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas are among the new names joining the cast. It is claimed that Sink could portray one of the characters from the comics, such as Mayday Parker or Menace.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film will be adapted from the comic book story “Brand New Day”. In this story, Peter Parker experiences radical changes in his life and tries to re-establish a balance in both his private life and his heroic identity. Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released on July 31, 2026.
