Star Wars Outlaws, launched with high hopes by Ubisoft, quickly fell off the sales charts shortly after launch. The game, which failed to meet expectations, sold only one million copies in its first month of release. This figure is extremely disappointing for a Star Wars game developed with a massive budget.
Outlaws, which faced criticism for its content, technical issues, and weak gameplay, received poor reviews from both players and critics. Speaking on a podcast, Tom Henderson revealed that Star Wars Outlaws 2 was initially conceived but was canceled before it even officially entered production. This information suggests that the game existed only as an early concept, but the company lacked the motivation to pursue the idea.
It appears that Ubisoft, after assessing the impact of the first game, felt it would be risky to continue. The limited reach, lack of sales, and lack of content have closed the door for Star Wars Outlaws 2. For now, there are no plans for a new adventure in this universe.
