Valve announces new Steam sales events periodically, typically several times per year. For the upcoming winter sale, the company confirmed its dates all the way back in February 2024, but did not specify the exact start and end times for the promotion.
Officially, Valve has yet to commit to specific start and end times for the Steam Winter Sale 2024. But some official-looking artwork seemingly associated with the promotion has recently started circulating on social media, possibly after being scraped by third-party tracker SteamDB, which currently displays it on its “Upcoming events” page. The image depicts Steam’s well-known anime girl—who has long been the de facto mascot of the platform’s sales events—and states that the Steam Winter Sale 2024 is scheduled to begin at 10am PT on December 19. The promotion will run for two consecutive weeks, concluding on January 2.
As per usual, PC gamers can expect a massive amount of discounts from the upcoming promotion. Valve’s track record suggests that some of the Steam Winter Sale 2024 offers will run for the entire duration of the event, while others will be available for shorter periods, ranging from 24 hours to a few days.
The Steam Winter Sale 2024 will mark the platform’s final shopping event of the year. The first promotion of this kind planned for 2025 is the RTS games-dedicated Steam Real Time Strategy Fest, which is scheduled to take place between January 20 and 27.
