Stellar Blade Might be Released for Nintendo Switch 2
It looks like Shift Up is working on Nintendo Switch 2 version of Stellar Blade.
Will Stellar Blade Come to Switch 2?
Launching in early June with only a couple of first-party titles, the Nintendo Switch 2 already boasts a large library of third-party games, including Hogwarts Legacy, Split Fiction, and Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 will make its way to the new hybrid console on July 11, while Borderlands 4 and Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade are also slated to appear on the more robust Nintendo hardware later this year. Now, it looks like another massively popular game will join the wave of titles coming to the Switch 2, and this one was once a PlayStation exclusive.
In a post by the Korean website PlayForum (and spotted by Eurogamer), Stellar Blade developer Shift Up has reportedly been given a dev kit for the Nintendo Switch 2, with the company already starting initial work to bring the title to the new console. This is part of the studio’s multiplatform strategy, as the recent release of Stellar Blade on PC proved to be an excellent decision, with the game selling over one million copies on the platform in less than a week. The developers are reportedly working to optimize the title for the Switch 2’s less powerful hardware when compared to PS5 and PC, and no release window has been confirmed.
It was recently announced that Stellar Blade had sold over three million units since its launch, making it no surprise when Shift Up confirmed that a sequel is in the works. While few details about the second game have been revealed, rumors indicate that it could be released as early as 2026. Alongside this, the studio is working on the upcoming action title codenamed Project Witches, which will reportedly feature RPG elements and open-world exploration.
