Supergirl Enters Two-Week Reshoot Period

DC Studios’ upcoming film, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, originally wrapped filming last May. However, as is typical for big-budget superhero productions, a short reshoot period was planned. According to reports, the film, written by director Ana Nogueira, is currently undergoing two weeks of additional filming, and it’s rumored that Superman, played by David Corenswet, may appear in these scenes.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow Adds Scenes Featuring Superman

According to reliable source Daniel Richtman, cameras have resumed rolling for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. The purpose of these reshoots is to briefly incorporate Superman into the film’s story. This coincides with the removal of the Superman costume, which was on display at the Warner Bros. studio in recent weeks. The “Production Used” note next to the costume now makes much more sense.

The film recently hosted a private test screening at the studio campus in Burbank, attended by a small group of executives. While details haven’t been released, viewers are reportedly very positive about the film. This has further fueled interest in James Gunn’s new DC universe.

Screenwriter Ana Nogueira stated in an interview that this new Supergirl will be a “tougher, darker, and more humorous” version. “Someone who witnessed the destruction of Krypton isn’t always a sunny character,” Nogueira said, adding that they will highlight the character’s trauma and anger.

The film will feature Milly Alcock returning as Kara Zor-El, Eve Ridley from the TV series “3 Body Problem” will portray a young Ruthye Mary Knolle, and Matthias Schoenaerts will portray the villain Krem of the Yellow Hills. It has also been confirmed that Jason Momoa will make his debut as Lobo.

Supergirl’s story begins with Kara traveling the galaxy with Krypto to celebrate her 21st birthday. But the journey quickly turns into a dark tale of revenge. James Gunn says the film will portray a character much more “tough and experienced” than Superman.
