Surgery with PS5 DualSense

The PS5 DualSense controller is pushing the boundaries of technology and being used not only in gaming but also in medicine. Swiss surgeons successfully used the controller during an endoscopy operation on a pig in Hong Kong. DualSense’s precision allowed them to perform complex surgical procedures with greater ease and precision.

PS5 DualSense Used in Surgery

The PS5 DualSense controller was chosen by surgeons in Switzerland for an endoscopy operation in Hong Kong, some 6,000 miles away. The surgeons used the DualSense’s precision and navigation capabilities to control the endoscope over a live video feed during the operation. This is an important proof that game controllers can be used in many different areas.

While the surgeons successfully performed this remote operation, the biggest challenge was keeping latency to a minimum. With less than 300 milliseconds of latency, the PS5 controller allowed the surgeons to make quick and accurate adjustments. Remote surgeries could become much more common in the medical field in the future.
