Switch 2 Joy-Con Will Be Quieter
Nintendo’s next-generation console, the Switch 2, which will be released on June 5, comes with many innovations in terms of hardware. These improvements are not limited to performance; they also extend to the details in the controllers. According to Nintendo’s official page, the HD rumble feature on the Switch 2 Joy-Con controllers will now work much quieter.
Noise Reduced While Preserving Vibration Power in Joy-Con 2
Nintendo announced that the feedback vibrations of the Joy-Con 2 will work with lower noise compared to the original Joy-Con. Although this quieted structure provides a more comfortable experience in general use, it can have an effect in some games. For example, in the “Joy-Con Hide & Seek” mini-game in the game Everybody 1-2-Switch, it may now be more difficult to find the hidden controller with the help of sound.
The changes are not limited to audio. The dimensions of the Joy-Con 2 controllers have also changed slightly, making them incompatible with games that require physical accessories, such as Ring Fit Adventure and Nintendo Labo. However, Nintendo has announced that, with these exceptions, the Switch 2 will largely be backwards compatible with previous Switch games.
The Switch 2 is priced at $450. The Mario Kart World themed special bundle is sold for $500 and will only be produced in limited numbers until fall 2025. Although pre-orders for both consoles have already sold out, sales of accessories and games are still ongoing.
Along with the new controller and system features, Nintendo has also released a significant update for the old Switch. This update adds Virtual Game Card, GameShare and system transfer features to existing consoles, making the transition to Switch 2 easier.
