Synth Riders: Overdrive Coming to Nintendo Switch
Synth Riders: Overdrive, a blend of music and action, brings the series, long popular on VR platforms, to the Nintendo Switch. Developed by Kluge Interactive, the new game aims to breathe new life into the rhythm-based genre with both local multiplayer and a story mode.
Synth Riders: Overdrive Brings Rhythm to Switch
Familiar to VR gamers, Synth Riders launched in 2019, captivating viewers with its unique musical experience set in a neon-lit, Tron-like atmosphere. Now, the newest installment in the series, Overdrive, has been redesigned from the ground up specifically for Nintendo Switch.
Kluge Interactive is targeting both experienced rhythm players and beginners with its new game. The game, which comes with three difficulty levels, features popular songs from artists like Charli XCX, Jack Harlow, and Starcadian. Players can also get into the groove with a story mode and competitive multiplayer options.
Studio CEO Arturo Perez stated the following about the project:
“We’re thrilled to bring our music rhythm game expertise to Nintendo Switch. The console’s portable nature and local multiplayer support make this fast-paced musical adventure ideal for friends and family.”
The game will be released before the end of 2025. The development team also confirmed that Gorillaz and Monster Cat-themed downloadable content (DLC) will be coming shortly after launch. The Synth Riders series, which has found success on VR platforms, is inviting not only rhythm enthusiasts but also Nintendo Switch owners to the stage with this new installment. It seems this time, the music won’t just be felt in your ears, but also at your fingertips.
