System Requirements Announced for Marathon Alpha

Bungie’s long-awaited multiplayer shooter Marathon is finally entering its first serious testing phase. Both the application process and minimum system requirements have been announced for players who want to participate in the closed alpha test. The test will only be available to a limited group of players who meet certain requirements and will be limited to a short time.

Marathon Meets Players with a Closed Alpha Period

Marathon’s closed alpha test will run from April 23 to May 4, and only players in the North American region will be able to participate. Those who want to participate in the test must join Bungie’s official Discord channel and have an active Bungie.net account. Participants must also be 18 years of age or older and have access to a PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC for the duration of the test.

There will be no friend invites in the alpha test, but selected players will be able to play together at the same time. PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live membership is not required during this testing period, but one of these services will be required when the game is officially released.

The approximately 6GB alpha only supports English. Bungie says that the full version of the game will support multiple languages. Progress made during the alpha will be deleted after the test ends and will not be transferred to the full version.
