In a new interview, James Gunn stated that The Batman 2 project, which Matt Reeves is working on, is “still very important for DC despite all the rumors.” Stating that they will see the script soon, Gunn clearly expressed his confidence in the project. These words have reignited the excitement about the sequel, which has been silent for a long time.

The Batman 2 was first announced for 2022, but its release date has been postponed several times. Although the initial plan was October 2025, the film was first postponed to 2026 and then to October 1, 2027. It has been confirmed that Robert Pattinson will return to the role of Batman. Andy Serkis is also expected to return as Alfred, and Jeffrey Wright is expected to return as Jim Gordon. Matt Reeves will return to the director’s chair.
