The Black Phone 2 Arrives With a Horror-Filled Trailer
Universal Pictures has shared the first trailer for the sequel to The Black Phone, directed by Scott Derrickson. The first film, which received great acclaim in 2022, was a huge success at the box office despite its low budget. The new film looks set to feature both familiar faces and creepy new details.
The Black Phone 2 Trailer Is Full of Tension
A young girl’s prayer heard in the trailer gives clues about the film’s atmosphere: “God, I’m not okay. I really need help. He’s going to kill me, please don’t let him win.” The dark images accompanying these words take viewers back to the spooky atmosphere of the dark basement in the first film.
Although an official plot summary has not yet been shared, it appears that the young victims are once again under a dark threat in the sequel. Viewers who met the serial killer character played by Ethan Hawke in the first film are eagerly waiting to see what kind of horror awaits them this time around.
The cast includes familiar names from the first film such as Mason Thames, Ethan Hawke, Jeremy Davies, Madeleine McGraw and Miguel Mora. The new addition to the series is Demian Bichir. Jason Blum is again producing.
The Black Phone 2 will be released in theaters on October 17, 2025, in time for Halloween. For fans of the horror genre, the trailer already reveals the dark tone and psychological tension of the upcoming production.
