The Cancelled Ratchet & Clank Game Has Finally Been Found

One of the gaming world’s lost legends has finally been revealed. Ratchet & Clank: Clone Home, a mobile game thought lost for years, was etched in our memories. However, after months of searching by a fan, the full version of this forgotten game has been found and made available online. The game, dating back to the Sony Ericsson era, reveals the series’ expansion plans from the early 2000s.

Ratchet & Clank: Clone Home Restored Playable After Years

Game historian and YouTuber The Golden Bolt has managed to access the Clone Home files. In his video, he explains how difficult the process of restoring the game was. The developer accidentally discovered the game installed on a Sony Ericsson W880i phone and was able to bypass the device’s encryption system and export the files. The full gameplay footage, approximately one hour long, was then uploaded online, and the game files were made available on Archive.org.

Clone Home was announced in 2005 but never officially released. Planned as a sequel to the first mobile game, Ratchet & Clank: Going Mobile, it would have been the sixth installment in the series. This project, which players describe as “lost media,” existed only through rumors for years. Now, it offers a unique window into the series’ history.

This discovery has been a long-awaited development for Ratchet & Clank fans. The series’ last game, Rift Apart, was released for PlayStation 5 in 2021, and no new game has been announced since. The discovery of Clone Home serves as a nostalgic solace for fans.

Insomniac Games is currently working on Wolverine, and this project, scheduled for a fall 2026 release, has shifted the studio’s focus in a different direction. However, the community believes this discovery could be a reminder for Sony to revisit the series. It seems the Ratchet & Clank universe has no intention of fading away, even after all these years.
