The Legendary Sly Cooper Trilogy Is Coming to PS5 and PS4
The long-awaited news for Sly Cooper fans has finally arrived. Sony has announced that it will release Sly 2: Band of Thieves and Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves for PS5 and PS4 in December. This will make the entire Sly Cooper trilogy playable on modern PlayStation consoles.
Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus was released at the beginning of the year
Earlier this year, the first game in the Sly Cooper series, Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, was released for PS5 and PS4. At the time, fans were curious about whether other Sly games would be coming, but they didn’t get a clear answer.
Thankfully, that uncertainty is over. Sly 2: Band of Thieves and Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves will be available on the PlayStation Store on December 10. Like other PS2 games, both games can be purchased individually for $9.99. PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers will be able to download the games for free through the “Classics” catalog.
Sony has yet to share what new features and improvements will be included in these versions of Sly 2 and Sly 3. However, both games will likely feature slightly improved graphics, rewinding, and quick-saving features. There should also be new trophy lists for trophy collectors.
So, with the entire Sly Cooper trilogy soon to be playable on PS5 and PS4, only Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time will not be directly playable on current PlayStation consoles. It is thought that Thieves in Time, which was released for PS3, will probably never be released for PS5 and PS4. Still, it is a nice development that at least three Sly games developed by Sucker Punch are now easily accessible after many years.
