The Sinking City 2’s First Gameplay Trailer Released
Ukraine-based studio Frogwares has released the first gameplay video for its long-awaited survival horror game The Sinking City 2. Having previously gone through a difficult process due to legal issues with publisher Nacon, the studio has now taken an important step in the development process of the game. Frogwares managed to surpass the $100,000 goal in just a few hours in the Kickstarter campaign it launched to fund the game.
Gameplay and Story Details of The Sinking City 2
The Sinking City 2 will present players with an impressive story set in a Lovecraft-inspired world. In the new gameplay video, players are seen returning to the city of Arkham. The main character fights against the flood disaster in the city while also facing terrifying creatures inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft.
The gameplay video clearly shows that the game is inspired by the Resident Evil and Silent Hill series. The creatures and atmosphere that the new protagonist encounters while wandering around the city seem to be quite striking for players who love the survival horror genre. Frogwares stated that the game focuses more on survival horror, moving away from its previous detective-focused structure.
The game attracted attention with its Kickstarter campaign launched on March 6, 2025. The campaign reached its goal of $ 100,000 in just a few hours and has achieved great success by exceeding $ 160,000 at the time of writing. Frogwares CEO Wael Amr emphasized how important this support is for the studio. Amr said, “We developed Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened with Kickstarter support in 2023 and overcame many challenges thanks to the safety net we created during this process.”
A definite release date has not yet been announced for The Sinking City 2. However, Frogwares stated that the support from fans played a big role in the development process of the game. Players are eagerly awaiting this new Lovecraftian horror experience.
