The Xbox Era Begins in Cars

Aiming to eliminate device barriers in the gaming world, Xbox is preparing to make its presence felt in cars. Thanks to a partnership with LG, cloud-based gaming will be brought to internet-connected vehicles. This will allow players to access games from the Game Pass library even while traveling.

A New Era with the Xbox and LG Partnership

Microsoft’s “This is an Xbox” campaign, emphasizing that “every device can be an Xbox,” now extends to cars. Thanks to LG’s webOS Automotive Content Platform (ACP), access to the Xbox app in internet-connected vehicles will be possible. Passengers will be able to start their cloud gaming experience by simply logging in with a Bluetooth controller.

This system, which brings the joy of gaming to cars, was designed in accordance with safety regulations. It eliminates distractions for the driver while allowing passengers to play games while driving. With this feature, Xbox aims to continue its entertainment experience even while on the move.

One of the first examples was Kia’s EV3. According to Tom Warren’s post on X (Twitter), the vehicle was among the first to support LG’s ACP platform. More brands are expected to adopt this platform in the coming period, and the number of compatible vehicles is expected to increase.

Integrating cloud gaming into cars is considered part of Xbox’s vision to transcend boundaries in the gaming industry. Bringing the access network, which extends from consoles and televisions to mobile devices and VR systems, to cars stands out as a significant step forward for the future of the Xbox ecosystem. This development will provide gamers with the opportunity to enjoy seamless gaming experiences not only at home but also on the road.
