One of the most talked about devices among the new generation game consoles, the Switch 2, is on the agenda this time with a different feature. The claim that both paid and free theme options will be offered to Switch 2 users has increased the expectations for the console a little more.

Different Options for Switch 2 Themes on the Agenda

The themes feature of the Switch 2 came to the agenda with a post made by the X (formerly Twitter) account named Switch2Stock. The account, which usually shares stock status and pre-order information, shared some early details about the theme system this time. According to the post, the themes will be active with the software update of the Switch 2 with version 2.0. However, there is a possibility that this version will be delayed; themes may be delayed to version 2.1 or 2.2.

Allegedly, some themes can be unlocked by completing missions exclusive to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers or by using Platinum Points. This mission-based system will allow users to earn new visuals by actively using the console. However, these features are expected to be exclusive to NSO members only.

On the other hand, some themes can be purchased directly from the Nintendo eShop. In this case, users will not need to have an NSO membership. In other words, the Switch 2 can offer both a paid and a free theme system that requires in-game effort. This variety will allow users to personalize their home screens as they wish.

However, all this information has not yet been confirmed by official sources. It remains unclear when and with which version the themes will come, and which options will be offered. A possible statement from Nintendo will clarify the question marks on this subject. For now, it is eagerly awaited whether the Switch 2 will actually offer this feature.
