Ubisoft Postpones Major Releases

Ubisoft announced an important decision with its new financial report. It was announced that the company will postpone some games belonging to its biggest brands. The high quality and positive feedback Assassin’s Creed Shadows received after it was postponed is behind this decision. Ubisoft prefers not to rush to repeat this success and offer stronger content in the long term.

Ubisoft Postponed Almost All of Its Projects

In Ubisoft’s statement, it was stated that they expect serious growth in the 2026-27 and 2027-28 fiscal years. It was emphasized that this growth will be based on the major productions that have been postponed. According to Insider Gaming, these projects include the new Far Cry game, Splinter Cell Remake and the new Ghost Recon production. It is reported that the new Far Cry game has been postponed to the end of 2026 according to internal sources.

In addition, work continues on smaller games in the Assassin’s Creed universe, along with larger projects. These smaller projects include a multiplayer experience codenamed “Invictus” and a remake of the beloved Black Flag called “Obsidian.” A smaller project called “Slice and Dice” is also being developed for Rainbow Six.

Although Ubisoft will not be able to offer big hits in the short term, it aims to offer players higher quality and more comprehensive productions in the long term. Company officials believe that this strategy will bear fruit in the coming years. Although players will encounter fewer major games in the 2025-26 period, they expect a promising content calendar for the post-2026 period.

Ubisoft has not yet announced which games will be released in the next 12 months. However, current signals point to a strategy where those who are patient will be rewarded with quality productions.
