Until Dawn Searches for the Most Durable Player
Sony Pictures has announced an unusual competition just before bringing its new horror adaptation Until Dawn to theaters. The event, called “Survive Until Dawn,” invites viewers who dare to watch the film over and over again to stay up until dawn. The competition, which will start on April 22, will see viewers in eight major cities in the U.S. prove their endurance by watching Until Dawn nonstop from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The event aims to offer fans of the game an unforgettable experience.
The Rules Are Tough in the Until Dawn Competition, and the Prize is Mysterious
The cities where the competition will be held include Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, Chicago, Washington D.C., Denver, Atlanta, and Miami. The only thing expected from participants is quite clear: staying up until dawn. In this marathon, phone use, taking a bathroom break, or closing your eyes are considered disqualifications. Although the prize to be given to the winners has not yet been announced, “endless bragging rights” are promised.
The new Until Dawn film, while retaining the themes of the original video game, is not a one-to-one adaptation. The story follows Clover, who travels to a remote valley with her friends to track down her missing brother. The group, who become the targets of a masked killer, return to the same night over and over again, experiencing terror over and over again. As the threat changes with each cycle, survival becomes increasingly difficult.
Directed by David F. Sandberg, the film stars Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Odessa A’zion, Ji-young Yoo, Belmont Cameli, Maia Mitchell, and Peter Stormare, whom we know from the original game. Until Dawn, which will be released on April 25, aims to present viewers with a classic horror story in a new cycle structure. For competition and ticket details, visit the official website.
