Christoph Hartmann, the boss of Amazon Games, has made recent statements about the Lord of the Rings MMO, stating that the game is still in the works. In an interview with IGN, Hartmann shared an important piece of information about the game, although very few details have been given so far.

Hartmann said that the game is still in the conceptual stage and that their team is “trying to find the hook” (a factor that will hook players). “You need to find a new touch and we’re still, I think, in a period where we really want to find out what the hook could be, what could be the thing that’s different from all the other games out there. So it’s a bit early,” Hartmann said, emphasizing that the game should not be the same as any other MMO on the market.

Hartmann’s comments make it clear that Amazon Games will not rush this project. It seems that the company wants to avoid repeating the problems of New World. New World was initially met with great interest, but lost its player base over time. To avoid repeating this with the Lord of the Rings MMO, the team is proceeding with caution.
