We’ve Already Seen the Main Character in Resident Evil Requiem
Announced at Summer Game Fest, Resident Evil Requiem brings not only a new game, but also a story that connects to the past. Grace Ashcroft, who we see in the promotional video, is revealed to be the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft, one of the series’ old characters. Resident Evil fans may have noticed the clues of this family connection much earlier.
Traces of Alyssa Ashcroft in Resident Evil Requiem
In the Resident Evil Requiem trailer, Grace is seen hesitating to return to the Remnant Hotel, where her mother Alyssa lost her life. This detail reveals that Alyssa died here in the past, and shows that the character’s impact on the story still continues. Grace’s confrontation with her past seems to be at the center of Requiem.
Fans have noticed that Alyssa Ashcroft’s last appearance was in a newspaper clipping in Resident Evil 7. In this detail, Alyssa wrote about the events at the Baker mansion in a 2016 article. Although it is not directly connected to Requiem, this small reference proves that the character continues to exist in the Resident Evil universe.
It is expected that the details of Alyssa’s death will become clearer in Requiem’s story. The events are said to date back eight years, suggesting that Alyssa died shortly after her appearance in Resident Evil 7. How these connections are handled will become clearer with Requiem’s release in 2026.
