Which Part of the GTA 6 Trailer is Gameplay and Which is Cutscene?
Although some time has passed since the first trailer of GTA 6 was released, the analysis of the images is still ongoing. One of the topics that players are most curious about is how much of what they see in the GTA 6 trailer is real gameplay and how much is a cutscene. A new post on Reddit has brought up some guesses on this subject.
GTA 6 Trailer Scenes Analyzed
A user on Reddit tried to determine which scenes in the GTA 6 trailer were gameplay and which were cutscenes by examining them frame by frame. The user emphasized in his post that these guesses were not definitive and stated that he was also waiting for the opinions of other viewers in the comments. While some scenes are thought to be cutscenes due to the cinematic camera angles, elements similar to classic GTA gameplay are striking in others.
In the post, it is seen that the moments when Lucía leaves prison and walks on the side of the road are especially likely to be cutscenes. In contrast, it is thought that sequences such as the nightclub scene or the police chase could have been taken from moments controlled by the player. Environmental details in the background, camera vibrations and character animations are considered as the determining factors in making this distinction.
While some users in the comments section claim that Rockstar presented scenes prepared entirely with the in-game engine throughout the trailer, others think that these visuals are largely “in-engine cinematic”, that is, cinematic scenes processed with the game engine. This shapes the expectations for the visual quality in the final version of the game.
Rockstar had announced that the scenes in the trailer consisted of half gameplay and half cutscenes. However, the community is determined to continue such analyses in order to estimate the technical limits of the game. As we get closer to the release of GTA 6, gameplay footage is expected to be officially shared. Until then, it seems that such detailed analyses made through the trailer will continue to keep players’ expectations alive.
