Who Will Play Dhalsim in the Street Fighter Movie?
The cast of the new Street Fighter movie, based on Capcom’s legendary fighting game series, is rapidly taking shape. The highly anticipated character of Dhalsim has recently been officially announced. The addition is poised to bring a fresh perspective to both the character and the project.
Vidyut Jammwal to Play Dhalsim in Street Fighter Movie
Indian action star Vidyut Jammwal will portray Dhalsim in the new Street Fighter film. With this role, Jammwal will make his Hollywood debut. Known in India for his work with the Commando film series, the actor stands out as a standout performer with his physical performances.
According to the game’s story, Dhalsim is a pacifist yogi who, against his own beliefs, enters a fighting tournament to help his impoverished village. The character is considered one of the most moral figures in the Street Fighter universe. Roshan Seth portrayed Dhalsim in the first live-action film, released in 1994.
The film’s cast includes Andrew Koji (Ryu), Callina Liang (Chun-Li), Noah Centineo (Ken), Jason Momoa (Blanka), Roman Reigns (Akuma), Orville Peck (Vega), Andrew Schulz (Dan Hibiki), and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (Balrog). Hirooki Goto will also star as E. Honda, while it was previously announced that WWE star Cody Rhodes will portray Guile.
Production is scheduled to begin filming in Australia in August 2025. An official release date has not yet been announced for the film, which is being developed by Legendary Entertainment and Capcom.
