Who Will Play Guile in the Street Fighter Movie?
The Street Fighter legend is once again being brought to the big screen. While preparations are underway for the new adaptation of Capcom’s popular fighting game series, a surprise name has emerged for the character Guile. It is claimed that Cody Rhodes, a well-known name in the WWE world, is in talks to portray this iconic character from the US Air Force.
Cody Rhodes Could Join the Street Fighter Movie Cast
The mention of Cody Rhodes’ name for the role of Guile has excited Street Fighter fans. Guile, one of the most well-known characters in the game series, debuted in Street Fighter II in 1991. The character, who stands out with his cold-blooded and disciplined structure, vows to destroy M. Bison and the Shadaloo organization after the death of his friend Charlie Nash. Jean-Claude Van Damme played the role of Guile in the original 1994 film.
The new film may feature not only Cody Rhodes but also other WWE stars. It has been suggested that Roman Reigns is in talks for the character of Akuma and Jason Momoa will join the cast as Blanka. It is also stated that Andrew Koji and Noah Centineo will portray the characters of Ryu and Ken. Callina Liang (Chun-Li), 50 Cent (Balrog) and Orville Peck (Vega) are also among the names that will be in the cast.
The director of the film is Kitao Sakurai, the creator of The Eric Andre Show. Sakurai also directed some episodes of the Twisted Metal series. Although previous Street Fighter adaptations have received mixed reactions, it is thought that this new production will meet expectations with its strong cast and modern production approach.
Although there is no official confirmation yet, comments are made that Cody Rhodes is physically quite suitable for the character of Guile. Developments and official statements regarding the new Street Fighter film continue to be followed closely.
