Why Chris Pratt Won’t Be the DCU’s Batman
Chris Pratt‘s name has been linked to Batman rumors for months. Discussions have flared on social media, with fans eager to see him play the new Dark Knight. However, the latest announcement has ruled that possibility out. Nevertheless, the possibility of the actor joining the DC Universe remains a hot topic.
James Gunn Puts an End to Chris Pratt and Batman Rumors
James Gunn has unequivocally stated that Pratt will not be Batman. When asked, “Will Chris Pratt be Batman?”, Gunn responded directly, “No,” stating that they want to explore the actor’s potential for a different character. This statement puts an end to long-standing fan speculation. However, it also fuels further curiosity about the role Pratt is being considered for.
Gunn stated that Pratt is a personal friend and would be delighted to work with him. Recalling that many actors have transitioned from Marvel projects to the DC Universe, the director emphasized that Pratt could also make the transition. However, it has been clarified that this will not be through Batman. This has raised the possibility that the actor will reprise his role as a different character.
While Pratt’s name is often associated with Batman among fans, Gunn’s comments hint at other possibilities. New or reimagined characters, in particular, that could appear in future DC Universe projects could be a good fit for Pratt. At this point, the actor’s potential role remains a mystery. Gunn’s statement, “It could be in another role,” broadens the possibilities rather than limiting them.
The DC Universe’s restructuring will bring many characters to the stage. It’s known that Batman will return in “The Brave and the Bold,” but Pratt won’t be in that role. Nevertheless, if the actor joins the DCU, he is expected to present a powerful and charismatic character. For now, the only certainty is that Chris Pratt will not be appearing as the Dark Knight.
