Will Nicole Kidman Play a Villain in Spider-Man?
As preparations continue for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which will bring a new breath to the Marvel world, Nicole Kidman‘s name has come to the fore for the female villain in the film. Rumors that the famous actress may be involved in the project have become a trending topic on social media.
Nicole Kidman Claim for Spider-Man: Brand New Day
According to information shared by @MyTimeToShineH, Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman is being considered for the main villain in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. No official agreement has been made yet, but it is known that Kidman is no stranger to comic book adaptations and has taken part in productions such as Aquaman and Batman Forever in the past.
It is stated that Marvel Studios is looking for a female actress between the ages of 30 and 50, but no clear information has been given about the character’s identity. The possibility of Marvel reinterpreting some male villains with female versions is also being considered. At this point, it is being said that characters such as Hobgoblin or Chameleon could be adapted.
It is known that Kidman has made director-oriented choices in the projects she has previously starred in. The actress, who explained her reason for joining Aquaman in 2018 as her trust in director James Wan’s vision, is thought to have made a similar decision for the MCU. While it is stated that Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk character will also appear in the film, it is also suggested that the villain Kidman will portray may belong not only to the Spider-Man universe but also to the wider MCU.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is inspired by the comic book era of the same name published in the late 2000s. During this period, Peter Parker’s marriage to Mary Jane was terminated, his identity was hidden, and the characters around him were largely renewed. New enemies like Mister Negative, Menace, Jackpot, and Carlie Cooper were introduced during this period, and it seems likely that one of these characters will appear in the film.
The film will be directed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton, with a script by No Way Home writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, and Liza Colón-Zayas. Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released on July 31, 2026.
