Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Facing Some Issues Along With Success
Recent released Soulslike action RPG game Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is making a success along with some performance issues.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers’ Performance Issues
Hours after launch on July 24, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers reached an incredible Steam milestone, boasting over 100,000 concurrent players on the platform. The highly anticipated Soulslike title was first announced in 2021, but excitement reached a fever pitch after it was shown off during the June 2024 Xbox Games Showcase, promising stunning visuals and unique combat mechanics. Each time the protagonist Wuchang kills a humanoid enemy or is killed, her madness rises, and once it reaches a high enough level, she deals increased damage to enemies while also taking increased damage herself. While the game is also being praised for its level design and detailed skill tree, it is also facing increased backlash due to various problems present at launch. Thankfully, the studio behind it has already issued a detailed response for frustrated fans.
In a new statement posted on Steam, Leenzee Games and 505 Games have addressed problems with Wuchang: Fallen Feathers’ optimization on PC, along with several other issues. According to the developer, an upcoming patch will improve the game’s performance, which many players have dubbed “another unstable Unreal Engine 5 title.” Unfortunately, the release date of this patch is unknown. Additionally, some players have been unable to claim their pre-order rewards, which the developer claims is due to a bug that will also be addressed in the upcoming patch. As a gesture of goodwill, all players who purchased the title on Steam will receive a free digital copy of the game’s soundtrack, and anyone who buys the Deluxe Edition will get a new exclusive costume in a future update. The studio is also aware that Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has been priced incorrectly in certain regions and is working to correct this.
Those with an Xbox Game Pass subscription can play Wuchang: Fallen Feathers right now, as the ARPG was added to the service as a day one title.
