Xbox Game Pass Adding More Than 100 Classic Retro Games

The developers behind Xbox Retro Classics on the Xbox Game Pass have announced that more than 100 additional titles will be coming to the service throughout 2025 and into next year.

Classic Retro Games for Xbox Game Pass

Xbox Retro Classics has added a few new titles since it was released, but this latest revelation will essentially triple the size of the currently available library. This service was developed by the Antstream Arcade team, who also developed a separate cloud gaming platform that gives Xbox players access to over 1,300 classic games. The retro cloud gaming service has proven so popular that it is now also available on the most modern PlayStation consoles, including the PS5.

Xbox Game Pass Adding More Than 100 Classic Retro Games

According to the Antstream Arcade development team, its roadmap for the near future includes approximately 120 classic retro titles. While the company did not reveal any of the titles it would be bringing to Xbox Retro Classics, it did indicate that fans can expect new challenges and tournaments for these games. Although the Antstream Arcade team has collaborated with Disney and other notable companies using its own cloud gaming service, there is no indication of whether any such titles are in this latest batch of games intended for Xbox Retro Classics.

This news comes amid fears that Xbox Game Pass might get more expensive soon, and the prospect of gaining access to hundreds of additional titles certainly makes the service more appealing. Despite persistent rumors of an Xbox Game Pass price increase, Microsoft has yet to reveal pricing plans for the future. That said, given that the cost of games has been increasing recently, there is reason to believe that the price of this service could also change in the near future.

Although the team behind Anstream Arcade has yet to reveal exactly when these new games will be added to the Xbox Retro Classics service, there are several great new titles coming to Xbox Game Pass in July. Gamers looking to scratch that retro itch will be happy to find that a few of these titles are actually retro remakes, including Legend of Mana, Trials of Mana, and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4. While Xbox Game Pass subscribers don’t yet know when to expect the 120 new titles on Xbox Retro Classics, there will still be plenty of great retro games to enjoy while waiting.
